Gueixa (芸者)

Jiri: Geisha (芸者) are traditional Japanese hostesses. The meaning of words in Kanji of Geisha mean "Art" (芸) and "Person" or "Doer" (者). The more literal meaning of Geisha is "Performing artist" or "Artisan". they are also referred as geiko (芸子) in the western part of Japan, including Kyoto. They specialize in the art of traditional music, dance and games. Before they become a full-fledged Geisha, they're considered Maiko until the age of 15, in Kyoto, or 18, in Tokyo. Historically, they sometimes began their training at the early age of 3 to 5. They do not need to be a Maiko before turning into a Geisha, but have to train through a whole year. At the age of 21, they cannot be considered a Maiko so are immediately promoted to Geisha.  If you want information about how they are dressed, click on the photo.

O significado mais literal de gueixa é "artista execução" ou "Artisan". Elas também são referidas como geiko (芸子), na parte ocidental do Japão, incluindo Kyoto.  Elas são especializadas na arte da música tradicional, dança e jogos. Antes de se tornar uma gueixa por completo, elas são consideradas Maiko até a idade de 15, em Kyoto, ou 18, em Tóquio. Historicamente, elas às vezes começam o seu treinamento com a idade de 3 a 5. Today I'm going to talk a little bit about maiko, which are japanese before they become fully geisha. Maiko are apprentices until they are 15, if I'm not mistaken. So their job is to have clients as many as they can because without them they cannot have money. So what they do is entertain their clients by dancing for them and doing some games after dinner.

The differences that you can find on a maiko and a geisha is that maiko normally have more decorations on their clothes than the geisha. The logic that japanese have is maiko need to show their beauty since their early years, so that they have clients in the future easily. Their kimono change when the season changes. The obi that they have on their stomach changes when they become geisha, it is a feature that is unique on maiko.

NOTE: There is a superstition around the world about maiko and geisha. That is, they are known to entertain their clients but I want you to understand something that they don't entertain the clients in a sexual way is just make them happy. So don't think that they are prostitutes, NEVER!!

Hoje eu vou falar um pouco sobre a maiko , que são japonesas antes que se tornem totalmente uma gueixa . Maiko são aprendizes até que elas tenham 15 , se não me engano . Assim, o seu trabalho é ter o máximo de clientes possíveis, porque sem eles não podem ter dinheiro . Então, o que elas fazem é entreter os seus clientes, dançando para eles e fazendo alguns jogos depois do jantar.

As diferenças que podes encontrar numa maiko e uma gueixa é que as maiko normalmente têm mais decorações nas suas roupas do que numa gueixa . A lógica que os japoneses têm é que a maiko precisa de mostrar a sua beleza desde os seus primeiros anos, a fim de que elas tenham clientes no futuro facilmente. O seu quimono muda de estação para estação. O obi que elas têm na sua barriga muda quando elas se tornam em gueixas , é uma característica que é única na maiko .

Hanami 花見

Jiri: Ok, I shaalll talk about the hanami.

Jé: Don't be stupid and talk already

Jiri: Okeyy... The hanami is a festival done in Spring, where people go see the cherries trees flowers blossom. While the flowers are blooming. These kind of hanami can include sake, which is a japanese alcoholic drink, and bento.

Jé: Just an interesting fact, in terms of japanese writing 花見 means literally flower viewing, 花 stands for flowers and 見 stands for the verb see. There was a hanami some time ago.

Jiri: Ok, eu vouuuu falar sobre o hanami. 

Jé: Não sejas idiota e começa a falar.

Jiri: Okeyy ... O hanami é um festival feito na Primavera, onde as pessoas vão ver as cerejeiras em flor. Enquanto as flores estão florescendo. Este tipo de hanami pode incluir sake, que é uma bebida alcoólica japonesa, e bento. 

Jé: Apenas um facto interessante, em termos de escrita japonesa 花 見 significa literalmente ver flores, 花 significa flores e 見significa o verbo ver. Houve um hanami há algum tempo.

KitKat Store

Jé: So this is the first KitKat Store ever made. It was opened in Ikebukuro, one of the most known cities of Japan, thanks to the big station, to the entertainments and marketing.
On the opening day they were almost sold out, in like 20 minutes or less. ~
So if you want to go the KitKat Store you should go in the early morning so that you can choose very well what you want to eat.

Jé: Então esta é a primeira loja KitKat já feito. Foi inaugurado em Ikebukuro, uma das cidades mais conhecidas do Japão, graças à grande estação, para o entretenimento e marketing.
